Exciting times

Hello and welcome to our first blog post. Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Why not make a brew, pull up a seat and enjoy a few minutes to yourself.

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Lisa, After being in retail management for over 15 years I wanted to try and get a happy balance between being a mother and also having something for myself.  As we all know this isn’t an easy thing to be able to do and is something that takes a lot of time and thought. In between the school run, cooking cleaning and just life’s general ups and downs not much time is left for us but being the kind of person I am and wanting to make a better future for my family I was determined to make things happen.

And so it begins!

One day I’m buying eggs at my local farm shop, which is based in the heart of Devon. The next minute I’ve registered as a business, completed my assessment with the E.H.O, got a 5 star rating bought supplies and started up Twinkle Little Tarr.

So why Twinkle Little Tarr?

Well! When thinking of a name to represent my business and me I thought very long and hard about this. I wanted a name that meant something special to me. So after lots of ideas I finally came up with this name and design.

pink_logoThe three stars at the bottom of my logo represent my three daughters Grace, Ruby and Ivy. The name Tarr well that’s my surname and the star at the top of my logo represents the many loved ones that can’t be with us in person, but are looking down on us.

The next challenge I had after deciding on a name was how would I make myself stand out from all the other businesses. I decided I would create Bespoke Cakes & Cupcakes. The idea being rather than a cupcake with a swirl, you would tell me a bit about the person, hobbies, likes, job… and I would make it personal to them.

Since starting the business in 2013 I have had the privilege to work with some fantastic clients and have made and designed over 300 different cakes, met and taught some really lovely people and even had one of my cakes judged to meet Paul Hollywood. Of course I wouldn’t have been able to do all of this if it wasn’t for the support of my family and friends but most importantly the lovely people that have ordered from me, attended one of my cake decorating courses and all of those lovely people that have taken the time to write such lovely reviews.

I’m so excited about what the future holds for Twinkle Little Tarr and hope your join me for the ride. It’s going to be a good one. Remember!! Always look forward and dream big!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read our blog post. I hope you will join us next time for another instalment. Till then take care and don’t forget to enjoy a piece of your favourite cake.
